About Me

Krista Withers has been professionally Longarm quilting for the last ten years. With roots in very traditional quilting, Krista has worked toward merging her knowledge and love of this deeply saturated world of textiles with the growing modern movement. She graduated from the University of Washington with a BFA in Painting. The color, texture, surface movement and exploration that thrilled her in the visual arts made the transition from painting and drawing into quilting arts an obvious and appealing move. Drawing is at the core of her practice and is one of the fundamental elements of her teaching process. Krista's digitized patterns can be found here. She lives and works in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, two children and dog.

  2. I notice that your teaching schedule doesn't include any local classes. I live in Portland and would love to come up for a workshop weekend.

  3. I too live in the Seattle area and am wondering if you teach locally or would be willing to do a one on one class(es)? I have a long arm and my grown daughter is a natural with the quilting and would like to learn more techniques.

  4. Hi Krista, I am a receient admirer of your quilting technique.I just did my first quilt with your method. I can send u pics. It is an old table cloth that I added borders to and made a quilt out of. It is one of three I plan to do.

  5. Hi Krista, I confess I don't know anything about quilting. I certainly don't know what "Longarm Quilting" is. I do know that you gave me a precious gift almost 12 years ago, that I will never be able to reimburse you for or forget. I am referring to my four-legged little girl named Lola.
I would love to get in touch with you somehow, just to chat. I think about you all the time and wonder how your kids, M and L are doing.
I know that this isn't the place for that. Please send me an email message if you read this. My email address is: L_irwin@msn.com
It's great to see you doing so well. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  7. Sorry to see you leave Krista but totally understand as I did the same but from another line of work. I was fortunate to have taken your class at MQX East April 2016. I think of you every time I walk into my studio as my whole cloth is still on my work board. Safe travels with your next chapter in life. I'll be waiting with open arms should you come back.
